Babies and Toddlers
We know that choosing the right nursery for your child is of paramount importance to you and share your priority which is to give them the best possible start. The nursery has a well-appointed baby and toddler unit where our youngest children are cared for in a carefully designed environment by a dedicated team of nursery nurses. There is an adjoining baby food preparation area as well as equipped changing room and comfy areas in the 2 year old class and up! With years of experience of working with parents and children, we offer unrivalled care and attention to ensure that you feel secure in the knowledge that your child is cared for in safe and enjoyable surroundings. Children will flourish in our loving home-from-home environment that encourages exploration and investigation through play. We take great care to help babies and toddlers settle and to assist this we allocate a key-worker to build a special relationship with your child to meet all their needs while they are in our care. They will offer security, reassurance and continuity and are in the best position to understand individual needs.
Two to Three Year old Children
When the babies move into this next room, their key-worker from the baby room will be there to help them and you the parent develop a confident relationship with their new key person. Here, in spacious surroundings, children are provided with a comfortable, safe, and stimulating environment. Using the birth to Three Matters Framework to guide what we provide for your child so that they will become strong, healthy children who are competent learners and skilful communicators, we foster your child’s curiosity about their environment. In our care your toddler will learn through interaction with people and active exploration of the world around them through touch, sight, sound & smell.
Pre School Children
Our Pre School room provides three and four year old children with the best of educational starts that is both stimulating and most importantly fun. Designed with the Early Learning Goals in mind this area fulfils every requirement for excellence in both Childcare and Early Years Education. A secure environment with effective adult support allows them to explore and investigate. Children can practice and develop ideas, concepts and skills in a unique and non-threatening way, without fear or failure. We respect and enable children to become autonomous and competent learners. We foster curiosity and retain a sense of awe and wonder so that our children are enthusiastic about new things, important as they progress through school.
Children with special needs
Children with special needs will find themselves a valued member of the community at Safehands Green Start Nursery. They follow the same curriculum, but with all the extra help they need to learn at their own pace. Other children in their group will be encouraged to help but not patronise them and to be considerate without being over protective. Activities will be structured to allow them to be as fully involved as possible.
