With an enviable and unrivalled history in childcare and a recognised Investor in People accreditation, the organisations aims and objectives are to create and run nurseries that are nationally recognised centres of excellence. A little while ago, the opportunity arose to take over the running of Young Steps (a nursery that Safehands already respected as the best nursery provision on the Fylde coast) and naturally, we were very excited to further develop it and make it into the “talk-of-the-town”. With a sizeable investment, the improvement work is nearly complete and the goal of being a centre of excellence is now under way.
Working in partnership with the Early Years Development team Safehands has invested £35,000.00. We recognise that it is important for the nursery to retain its sense of individuality and to reflect the children, the locality and the staff. One noticeable and much needed area of improvement is the outstanding garden facility to include a vegetable patch where children will be encouraged to grow their own vegetables. The nursery chef will show the children how vegetables can 
be prepared & cooked to perfection in a variety of delicious menus to emphasise the goodness and taste. Other areas of the garden include a sensory area, fruit trees, gazebo, trawler ship and performing arts and stage area. As well as investment into new play equipment, the nursery will benefit from a brighter new image.
